The process

STEP 1

I traced the picture using live trace

STEP 2

I extract the only part that I need from the picture which is the factory and editted it so that it looks better

STEP 3

I change it from black and white to color. Actually i want to use black and white but then I thought it would be too simple. So I change it.

STEP 4

I colored the background. I used blue and green to show peace. I wanted to give an idea to people that even in a peaceful place there is still air pollution.

STEP 5

I paste the logo I did before.

My choice

I've decided to use the above picture as a reference to what I'm going to do

Description

  1. Gas masks are used to protect the wearers from pollutants and
toxic materials. I used a gas mask to represent air pollution
because people wear gas mask when the air is unhealthy.

2. The color of the gas mask is from green to purple. According to
the Air Quality Index Color Code Guide, green means that the
air is good or healthy whereas purple means that the air is very
unhealthy. So, the color of the gas mask is from green to purple
to show how our air is becoming unhealthier from time to time.

3. On the middle of the respirator, there is a radioactive sign to
show that we have been inhaling dangerous pollutants that are
flowing through the air.

4. The eyepiece of the gas mask is grey color to show how abvious
and how frequently haze has been clouding our air.

5. The filter is black in color to show how dirty the filtrates are
when the air is filtered.

How I did it..

Now, I've started using illustrator do draw my symbol. The first step is outlining the shape of the gas mask. I traced it out of the sketch I did with pen tool.

Step 2, I add a little detail to the outline using pen tool. I also resized my symbol to make it look more like a gas mask.

Step 3, I add colours my logo using gradient effect.

Step 4, I draw a human head using pencil tool. I used pencil tool to draw the ears and the hair because it is easier and faster than using pen tool. I also changed the color of the eyepiece

Global warming

I've use this picture as a reference to my symbol.

I've decided to change my symbol because of the restriction of using a globe... Now , i would like to focus on another cause of global warming, pollution. I've decided to use a gas mask as my symbol because we use a gas mask when the air is filled with toxic or when the air is unhealthy. So, I'm sure that when everyone looks at this logo, they will know that this logo is about pollution.

This is a simple sketch and a drawing using illustrator of
how my logo is going to look like.I would like to choose the
greenhouse effect as my topic. As you can see, my logo is
the earth under a green colored house. This means that
earth is now under the greenhouse effect.
